The Chubby Chickpea does Middle Eastern food with a refreshing focus on a healthy but hearty menu, fast service, and lunch delivery. Mediterranean food is typically healthy to begin with as it's based mostly on vegetables. But The Chubby Chickpea takes this a step further by offering meals rich in protein and vegetables with no trans fats! Handmade falafels are its specialty and frequent customers will tell you to try the rotisserie Shawarma. The Chubby Chickpea's seasonings are as healthy as the vegetables in its wraps, with all the spice and crisp flavor you'd expect from Middle Eastern food. The delivery service runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily. This place is hard to miss — with its big chickpea logo outside — and the interior is a great place to eat a sandwich and head off for the day. Give The Chubby Chickpea a try and you'll be back for more in no time!

Located just minutes from the stop and go traffic of downtown Boston, the Blue Hills Reservation offers a lush green sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of urban living. There are over 125 miles of hiking trails alone at this family-friendly destination, with 7,000 acres of greenery open to the public. The Great Blue Hill's summit is at 635 feet, a beautiful way for an experienced hiker to spend the day. But it's not all hiking. Camping reservations can be made at the Appalachian Mountain Club cabins on Ponkapoag Pond. Depending on the season, swimming, skiing, and pond fishing are great choices for activities at the Blue Hills Reservation. Mountain biking is allowed in designated areas, and there are many varieties of wildlife to enjoy while taking in the scenery. There are picnic areas with charcoal grills just waiting for you to finish off your day in the Blue Hills.

Since opening in 1963, the Dairy Freeze has been a haven of tasty treats for residents of the South Shore. The menu features a wide selection of snacks and meals at great prices. The onion rings and fries are incredible and, like a lot at the Dairy Freeze, come in very generous portions. Fried scallops and clams are also available, and the grill serves up burgers, hot dogs, and other classic goodies. Let’s not forget the ice cream, either. There’s an impressive selection hard ice cream on display and huge soft serve cones that will satisfy any sweet tooth’s needs. All of these customizable, of course, with a wide range of toppings to sprinkle over whatever you choose. Plenty of specialty treats are available, as well, including sundaes, shakes, and Italian ices. The Dairy Freeze has earned its place as a Quincy institution, and if you haven’t checked it out yet, there’s no time like the present.

Embrace the flavors of the Mediterranean at Vlora, the funky Back Bay restaurant that presents a fusion of Greek, Albanian, and Southern Italian cuisine. Chef Aldo Velaj has created a menu inspired by his hometown in Albania, as well as the tastes of the wider Mediterranean—and the results are fantastic. From appetizers to desserts the menu offers a range of tastes and spices, from the Watermelon and Feta tidbit—a surprising combination of flavors and textures that works beautifully—to the Arancini Siciliani, Italian rice balls stuffed with feta and served in a tomato and mint sauce. Dessert is a must, especially The Kompekai, an Albanian style bread pudding chock full of pistachios and walnuts and topped with a wonderful crème anglaise. All of the ingredients are fresh, the service is friendly, and atmosphere is as laid back and inviting as the sunny Mediterranean.

Ceramics a la Carte is a "paint your own pottery" and custom ceramics studio is great for groups of kids or anyone looking to put a unique touch on a hand made gift. Birthday parties are hosted by the facility where all attendees can make their own unique piece of pottery to take home. During the summer they offer ice cream sundae specials for parties. It's also a great place for office team-building, a night out with the ladies, or bonding with your children over art. The art of pottery teaches patience and aesthetic appreciation to children, and it's also a whole lot of messy fun! Technique classes are taught to more advanced adults. It's recommended that you call ahead for seating, and for hours which do change by season. It's a small studio that's easy to miss, so keep your eye out for the big Marshall's next door. Bring the kids and have an artfully good time!

One of Boston's loveliest historic neighborhoods, the South End boasts a housing stock comprised primarily of "bowfronts." These mid-19th century structures are five story row homes featuring rounded, bowed rooms in front, giving the buildings their distinctive character. Through the 1950s, the South End was a hot spot for jazz. Venues like the Pioneer Club and Tic-Toc played host to numerous jazz legends. Today, the historic neighborhood features a rich array of cultural amenities including Boston College, the Boston Ballet, the Boston Center for the Arts, and many studios and gallery spaces. The South End's also one of Boston's hottest restaurant districts, offering a variety of cuisines for all tastes. The neighborhood also features eleven public parks, each offering a bucolic respite amidst the bustle of Boston.

A skipjack is a type of Pacific tuna, known for its tenacity and strength. When he was opening his Back Bay restaurant, Jeff Senior chose the name to reflect his vision of an establishment that aggressively pursued the best of everything, including price. And he pulled it off with flying colors. Skipjack’s is a great alternative to high-end seafood chains like Legal Seafoods; with just a few locations, Skipjack’s is able to caress the details, from the inventive, constantly changing menu (the freshest international seafood served daily), to the almost impossibly friendly service, to the decor, which is slick enough to entertain clients but comfortable enough for the kids. The menu offers simply grilled fish prepared to your liking, as well as creative dishes like the ginger/pineapple calamari appetizer—a thrilling mix of tartness, sweetness, and light golden batter. Not everything is that inventive, but more conventional fare like Wasabi-Crusted Salmon with stir-fried veggies and miso vinaigrette is impeccable. Most dishes are under $20, which makes Skipjack’s an incredible value for this part of town. Don’t miss the massive raw bar, sushi bar, and wine/cocktail lists.

Relive the wonder of childhood and enjoy a fun-filled family outing at the Children’s Museum. Located on Congress Street, the Children’s Museum, which has been in operation for over 90 years, provides interactive, engaging exhibits that will entertain and amuse both children and adults alike. Highlights of the museum include the Japanese House, a real Japanese residence transported from Boston’s sister city, Kyoto; the Construction Zone, where kids can ride a real Bobcat, climb through tunnels, and plan their own architecture project; and the New Balance Climb, a three-story structure where children can climb and play. You can also feel great about your visit knowing that the Boston Children's Museum makes a concerted effort to to green design, with green roofs, recycled building materials, and more. The Children’s Museum is open Saturday through Thursday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., and on Friday from 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.
