Spotlight on a Boston Suburb: Quincy, Massachusetts
Part of metropolitan Boston, Quincy, Massachusetts has a long and distinguished history. Quincy was named for Colonel John Quincy, maternal grandfather of Abigail Adams and namesake of John Quincy Adams. Both President Adams were born here, along with founding father John Hancock.
Today Quincy boasts a variety of distinctive neighborhoods all within commuting distance of Boston. Some of its primarily residential neighborhoods are Adams Shore, Germantown, Merrymount, and South Quincy. Quincy also includes many walkable, mixed-use neighborhoods like Marina Bay, North Quincy, Quincy Center, and Wollaston.
