Henninger’s Tavern: Delicious Cuisine

Can you rate a restaurant by the quality of its crab cakes? If so, then Henninger’s is a winner, because theirs are worthy of five stars, with big chunks of sweet crab melded into a moist-on-the-inside, crisp-on-the-outside patty served with basil aioli and red cabbage slaw. The ambiance of this little Baltimore standby is charming and unpretentious, with white tablecloths on small, lamp-lit tables, and mismatched wall art that’s decades away from today’s trendy, designer restaurant interiors. The menu is old-school too, with pork chops and mashed potatoes, filet mignon with potatoes au gratin, and shellfish linguini, to name a few of the well-prepared entrees. Stop by the bar for a drink while you wait for a table or make a reservation to avoid a wait.
