Located just outside of Baltimore, Columbia, Maryland is a planned community comprising ten self contained villages. Originally developed by The Rouse Company, Columbia's planning aimed to create a mixed-use community featuring commercial, residential, and public spaces. Today, Columbia's small town feel and numerous amenities have attracted a population of just under 100,000. Columbia's housing stock features single-family homes, townhomes, condominiums, and apartments. In 2010, Columbia was ranked #2 on Money magazine's list of "Best Places to Live."
