Charleston: Improvisational Fine Dining
Are you ready for a fine dining meal with a little improvisation? The Charleston restaurant tags itself as “Improvisational Dining,” because a new menu is designed nightly, and dinners are spontaneously full of the freshest ingredients. Charleston opened in 1997 in the Harbor East area of downtown Baltimore by Executive Chef and Co-Owner Cindy Wolf, who was nominated for a James Beard award in 2006 and 2008. Charleston serves up French cuisine inspired by lowcountry South Carolina cooking, and boasts a wine list that includes over 600 different varietals! If you yet aren't convinced of Charleston's charms, Baltimore Magazine recently called it “stunning,” the restaurant was a Mobile Travel Guide 4 Star Winner in 2007, 2008 and 2009; it has been Zagat’s #1 recommendation for food, service, and popularity; and it has won multiple awards from The Baltimore City Paper and Baltimore Magazine. Go ahead and make a reservation, you'll be happy you did.
