So what do Jackie Chan, Maggie Q., Larry King, Mickey Rourke and Sofia Vergara have in common? They're all Chef Kimmy fans - she of the 9021PHO restaurant chain that serves up healthy Asian fare with French influences and California flair. Starting out at Beverly Drive in Beverly Hills, the restaurant has now expanded to Westlake, with another location coming up in Glendale as part of a plan to open 50 restaurants in the next five years.

But now there's something more to love about 9021PHO besides its great food: The restaurant just announced a partnership with HARK, Healing Arts Reaching Kids at Children's Hospital of Los Angeles. CHLA treats over 97,000 patients and performs over 15,500 pediatric surgeries per year and the HARK program uses artwork to let children express their fears and triumphs associated with their illnesses and injuries to promote coping and healing.

Under the partnership, the restaurant will display this artork on the walls of all its locations. Along with the menu, restaurant guests will be given a program brochure with which they will be able to bid on the art. The auction closes closes the end of the month, with 100% of the proceeds going to the hospital.

"I do not have children of my own, so I want to help as many children as I can," Chef Owner Kimmy Tang explained.

The star-studded event on Wednesday May 23 at the restaurant's Beverly Hills location was attended by industry VIPs and gourmands. Guests got to enjoy plenty of Chef Kimmy's signature dishes: shrimp rolls, tofu rools, crunch rolls, vegan spring rolls, crispy sole, chicken and salads in wonton cups, open face pork and soy ham Banh Mi sandwiches, and ice tea and coffess to wash it all down. - Sat, 26 May 2012 02:33:05 GMT
